Objective: Collaborate on Stage 5 of the lighting design for the Taylor Swift | Songbook Trail exhibition, focusing on creating an immersive, emotionally resonant atmosphere that celebrates Taylor Swift's songwriting and artistic journey. The lighting design was crafted to enhance the storytelling aspect of the exhibit, highlighting artefacts and installations that reflect Swift’s creative evolution.
Scope:
. Lighting Design Collaboration: Supported the final stage of the lighting design process to align with the exhibition’s narrative, emphasising Taylor Swift’s artistic milestones with carefully curated lighting that draws attention to key memorabilia, lyrics, and multimedia displays.
. Atmosphere and Engagement: Contributed to an atmospheric lighting design that guides visitors through the exhibition, using dynamic lighting effects to set moods that mirror the themes of Swift’s music and lyrics, ensuring an engaging and immersive experience.
. Technical Adjustments: Worked alongside the V&A’s technical team to finalise lighting placements, adjust brightness and angles, and enhance colour schemes, creating a visually cohesive experience that complements each phase of Swift’s songbook journey.
Outcome:
A thoughtfully executed lighting design that elevates the exhibition’s tribute to Taylor Swift’s songwriting legacy, enriching the visual and emotional impact of the display.
